FDA : Food Facility registration renewal

The Food Modernization Act amended food facility registration requirements and made it compulsory to renew FDA registrations on a biennial basis, on even numbered years and during a specific 90 day period. The FDA has announced that the new Biennial Renewal period will start today, 1st October 2014 until 31st December 2014.

All food facilities registered with the FDA must complete the renewal process by the end of the year. The FDA is encouraging food facilities to renew their registration early on in the 3 month renewal period.

We advise all of our customers to inform their suppliers of this biennial requirement. Failure to renew will normally result in the suspension of the FDA number and possible delay for your imports early next year.
