2016 HARVESTS in FRANCE

According to the French Ministry of Agriculture, the forecast made on 10/1/16 indicates a harvest at 42,2 Mhl, a decrease of 12% compared to last year and 9% against the 5 years average. It should be the lowest harvest over the last 3 decades. The Spring frost had a big impact on Champagne (-32%) Burgundy-Beaujolais (-19%) and Loire Valley (-29%). The hail had also impacted on Charentes (-14%), Burgundy-Beaujolais and Languedoc-Roussillon (-6%). At the opposite, the harvest is increasing in South West (+1%), South East (+1%), Alsace (+12%) and Bordeaux (+16%). Corse remains at the same level.
